Just for fun...a wonderful salad that is hearty enough for an entree. Nice glass of wine a warm hunk of bread....life is good.
1 Head of Green Leaf Lettuce
1 Head of Red Leaf Lettuce
1 Med Red Onion, sliced thin
1 Ripe Avocado, sliced thin
1 Granny Smith Apple, sliced thin
1 Pkg of Craisens
1 Pkg of Crumbled Blue Cheese
2 Small packages of Slivered Almonds
6 Tbls Sugar
Balsamic Vinaigrette to taste.
Spray a small non-stick pan with “Pam” or other nonstick spray. Add almonds and sugar, cook over med heat until the sugar melts and sticks to the almonds. Cool on wax paper.
You can substitute your favorite lettuce, Romaine is fabulous.
I like Balsamic Vinaigrette but your favorite is fine.
Mix all ingredients and serve immediately.
